Hugh Singleton was born 1931 in Cuthbert, a small agricultural town in southwest central Georgia. His ancestors on both sides were farmers and educators, as well as skilled builders, ministers, accountants, and newspapermen. The Singletons date back to the pre-civil war days, with older roots paternal roots go back to England; maternal to Ireland
Hugh’s higher education consists of business school training in accounting and administration. He served four years in the U.S. Navy, 1951-1955. Not a world traveler, he has instead visited a sizeable portion of the US.
Hugh enjoyed a career with the NCR Corporation and retired at the end of 1993Hugh and his wife live in a retirement community near Leesburg, FL where they enjoy a number of activities.
Hobbies have been many, including taxidermy, radio electronics, amateur journalism, cartooning, genealogy, US history, and always reading, reading, and more reading.
Hugh says, “My most fun thing at the moment is membership in the local chapter of Cafe-Philo where we meet weekly to discuss (and solve?) the problems and philosophies of the world. I have attended four annual conventions of ajayers (AAPA and NAPA) and treasure my association with a number of marvelous people in the hobby.”
All things are in motion and nothing is at rest...
