And then in-between snow storms the temperature goes way, way below zero, so it does not take long for one to freeze, when we venture forth, even to walk to the mail box.  No more walks around the subdivision, everyone is hunkered down in the warm house, hoping the gas furnace and water pump keeps on working.

So we have been reading books and housecleaning.  Found a huge box of videos, the children's weddings, old movies and trips, so we have been watching those.

But do go dancing once a week, but our monthly dance last week was  cancelled because it was 14 below zero.  Missed the exercise and seeing our friends.  But this Sunday is a polka church service and chili luncheon, will go to that.

Richard for Christmas got Russell a remote starter for his new car, had it installed so now all we have to do is press a button in the house and the car starts and then in 15 minutes we go out to a warm car.

Football - it is playoff time, our Green Bay Packers played the New York Giants in a below zero weather and got defeated so that season is over.

But Richard's New England Patriots won over San Diego and they go off to Phoenix on Feb. 3.  Sharon and Richard will go, she wants to see the Grand Canyon.  Maybe he will get his 5th diamond ring.

Russ and I will hunker down and watch at home, tickets were $700 and I had to go to the dentist for a cap to the tune of $1000 and there went my football fund.

But am getting cabin fever and the third week in February I want to go to California and see cousin Ellie Kunstmann in San Marcos.  Russ will stay home and guard the farm in this cold weather.

Went to a couple movies - 'The Bucket List' and Easy Money.  Then go out to eat.

Income tax time, gathering information for the accountant.

My computer is having health problems, mechanical, Craig my repairman had it in his shop to do the sign of the cross.  It is still not good, but I sure enjoy using it, the emails, the newspapers, YouTube, and even the blog I have of my stories.

All the news for this time.  Keep in touch.

Wisconsin Winter

Here it is the end of a very cold January 2008. As I sit and look out this north window, all I see is icy roads and piles of snow, we must have 20 inches on the ground.  Every other day it seems the Good Lord sends us a couple more inches of snow, and Russ has to fire up the Case Loader Tractor and shuffle and plow the snow into piles so we can get the automobiles out of the garage to do our errands.
